Hey,I'm Luke Rush.
I first started playing music in a band me and my friend were in called 'Duster'.Our music never really made it anywhere outside of my bedroom where we practiced, but it was the best time we ever had. Eventually we got busy with life and stopped practicing, and for a while I gave music up altogether.
During this period I started experimenting with photography and videography, it was a way for me to take control that I couldn't anywhere else in my life.
I was able to capture a moment and immortalise it.
After a while I decided it was time to go back to music. For me writing songs was a therapeutic way to express my emotions in a way I couldn't with photography. For a long time I only played at open mics, till a friend recommended me to a music producer who helped me release my first album. Two years later, and I'm filming my first music video!

Mental health trust
With the release of my new album 'Mood Ring' which explores the ever changing nature of emotion, I decided to support a charity very close to me. Mind is a mental health charity that provides information and support, campaigns for better mental health services and policies, and raises public awareness to challenge stigma. It offers direct support through its network of local Minds, which provide services like helplines, supported housing, and drop-in centers. As a musician, I hope to use my influence to support and uplift everyone struggling with mental health issues.

I love to reference this film in music videos. I think it is so key to understanding my music particularly when it comes to love songs. It is understated and deeply romantic, with no need for sweeping grand gestures and unachievable ideas on love.
